TOMORROW, applause will be heard across Gwent as a 'thank you' to our amazing key workers as they continue to try to keep us safe during the coronavirus pandemic.
The South Wales Argus asked readers via Facebook, to see how many in the Gwent area would be taking part in the #ClapForCarers event - and we had an amazing response - over 200 comments and 700 shares.
Those from Chepstow, Usk, Caldicot, Caerleon, Maesglas, Bettws, Malpas, Duffryn, St Julian’s, Monmouth, Ebbw Vale, Pontypool, Risca, Ringland, Tredegar, Magor, Rogerstone and Cwmbran said they would be.
Shanie Barker commented: “The amazing NHS staff looking after the coronavirus patients putting their own lives at risk, this is the least we can do”.
The hashtag, #ClapForOurCarers, started by Annemarie Plas in London, and spurred on a viral social media campaign which saw hundreds say they would be taking part.
