A PLEA has been issued for more care workers in Blaenau Gwent to help with the coronavirus crisis.
In a plea to residents in the county borough, the council has said that that their care teams are “under extreme pressure”.
A statement on the council website reads: “All our home care/domiciliary care teams are under extreme pressure and many are looking to recruit additional staff.

“If you or a member of your family are not currently working and would like to support the delivery of home care to the most vulnerable people in our communities then please contact the agencies listed below.”
The list of roles available includes care assistants, care support workers and home carers.
The agencies current recruiting are:
- Allied Healthcare
- Carers Trust
- Abacare
- Care in Blaenau Gwent
- ND Care & Support
- Pride in Care
- Q Care
- Trusting Hands
Blaenau Gwent isn’t the only Gwent county that’s looking for more careers.
Positions are being advertised in Abergavenny, Newport, Caldicot and Caerphilly.
