TRANSPORT service Megabus has suspended all of its travel in Wales as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Following the government's guidance to stay at home and stop essential travel, the bus service has released a statement on its website explaining the reasons for the "tough decision".

In the statement, managing director Mark Venables said the service will be temporarily suspended "with no services running after Sunday, April 5".

Mr Venables added: "We’re sorry for the inconvenience this will cause you. We firmly believe that the decision to temporarily suspend services is the right one based on the current unprecedented circumstances, and I hope you understand the reasons for our decision to stop running services in England and Wales.

"We hope to be able to welcome you back on board very soon."

The service will continue to run in Scotland.
