IKEA stores across the UK are set to reopen 'within days' - according to reports.

When did Ikea close?

The Swedish flat-pack chain shut the doors at all its 22 stores in the UK and Ireland back on Friday, March 20.

Did they stop online orders?

No - shoppers have still been able to buy products online at Ikea.co.uk and have them delivered to their homes.

The chain has also offered customers the opportunity to request contact-free deliveries.

What have Ikea said?

No formal update has been released from Ikea as to when they will reopen.

In a statement in March, Peter Jelkeby, Ikea's chief sustainability officer, said: "These are extraordinary times, and our absolute priority is to ensure the health and safety of our customers and co-workers.

"We have listened carefully to them, to the advice of the UK and Ireland governments, and have been closely monitoring the situation as this evolves.

"This is the right decision for us to take at this point.

"We look forward to welcoming our customers back to our stores in the future.

"As a company who cares deeply about people and the planet, our thoughts are with all those affected by the virus and those working tirelessly to care for them."

When are they likely to reopen?

According to reports - Ikea have proposed to reopen on Monday, May 18 for its 18 stores based in the UK - although that has yet to be confirmed by the company.
