WITH Spring Bank Holiday upon us - Monday, May 25 - many will be planning to do their essential shopping and wondering what the opening hours have changed to across Gwent.

As opening times do vary, the list below should be a guidance to those popping to the supermarket to do a food shop.

Newport, Spytty Retail Park: 8am – 6pm

Newport, Harlech Retail: 7am – 6pm

Pontypool, Lower Bridge Street: 7am – 6pm

Abergavenny Metro, Frogmore Street: 9am – 6pm

Abertillery, Castle Street: 8am – 6pm

Chepstow, Station Road: 7am – 6pm

Tesco Express stores are open later, until midnight, and there is no priority for NHS workers on Monday’s.

Asda

South Wales Argus:

All Asda Superstores are open from 8am till 8pm. Before 9am on Monday’s is priority shopping for key workers.

Morrisons

South Wales Argus:

All Morrisons Superstores are open from 7am till 10pm. From 6am till 7am is priority shopping for key workers.

South Wales Argus:

All Sainsbury Superstores are open from 8am till 8pm. Express stores, such as the store in John Frost, Newport, are open later till around 10pm.

8am till 9am shopping is dedicated to elderly and disabled customers, 7.30am and 8am is for NHS and social care workers.

Lidl

South Wales Argus:

All Lidl Superstores are open from 8am till 8pm.

Aldi

South Wales Argus:

All Aldi Superstores are open from 8am till 10pm.
