MORE money has been raised by generous Torfaen residents and their posties - on week three of the latter's fancy dress campaign.
Residents across Griffithstown and Blaenavon are getting used to a host of weird and wonderful faces delivering their post on Fridays - last week saw Pocahontas, a strawberry, Elsa and Buzz Lightyear making an appearance on the streets.

For last Friday’s dress-up, the group of postmen and women and their management were raising money for St John’s Ambulance Cymru and raised £765.80 for the charity - taking the total fundraising to £2,000 in three weeks.

Manager Graham Wilkes - who oversees the work in the NP4 postcode area, which covers much of northern Torfaen - said: “The community really has embraced our antics at trying to make people smile across the postcode.
"All our staff would like to thank the public for the support and donations.”

It was Mr Wilkes’ idea to raise morale and help various charities out and the posties are committed to continuing this tradition each Friday of the lockdown and social distancing regulations.
The charity the group are raising money for will change each week. They have previously raised amounts for Noddfa Church in Abersychan, and Guide Dogs for the Blind Cymru.
