Archive: Ruin amidst beauty - the industrial past of Clydach Gorge in pictures
THE ruins of Clydach Ironworks can be found in a picturesque valley just off the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road near Gilwern.
The site dates back to 1793 and at its peak employed 1,350 people to exploit the area's iron ore, coal and limestone.
