THE owner of a Newport takeaway has been keeping care home staff fed during the pandemic with free deliveries of fried chicken.
Chaudhry Ashraf of Chicken Shack in Corporation Road has made several trips to Caerleon House Care Home since the lockdown began.
He said while plaudits rightly went to the NHS for their response to the outbreak, it was also important people did not forget about the hard work being done by care staff.
"They are doing a great job as well," he said.
Mr Ashraf said he would "love to do it again" and had made arrangements to start deliveries to another care home in Newport, starting this Friday.
