UP to 350 homes could be built on fields at Daresbury Park.

Property developer Marshall CDP has applied for permission to build a mix of houses and offices across 66 acres next to the Daresbury Park Business Park.

Although the application is only for an outline of the scheme, documents submitted to Halton Council indicate that the development will include 350 houses, down from the 500 homes first proposed.

The development would be split across Red Brow Lane, with the fields to the north restricted to housing and the area to the south including offices and a mixed use “local centre”.

In its application, Marshall CDP said: “The site is situated in a highly sustainable and accessible location adjacent to the Daresbury Business Park.

“It is in close proximity to a range of local services and amenities and has very good accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

“It is also well connected to public transport links allowing for reduced reliance on private motor vehicles.”

The company added: “The proposals have been sensitively designed to transform a longstanding allocated site to provide a vibrant residential and employment development which supports the borough’s diverse and growing population.”

The application also said the Daresbury Park site could be “integrated” with Sandymoor given plans for more residential developments in the area.

This could include connections with the planned changes to the centre of Sandymoor, where a new primary school, nursery and shops have been proposed.

Marshall CDP said these changes would have “potential influence” over the development at Daresbury Park.

Residents have until August 20 to comment on the proposals, and the council aims to make a decision on planning permission by October 5.
