Just one month ago millions of Christians worldwide commemorated the first Good Friday 2,000 years ago when Jesus Christ died by cruel crucifixion in Palestine.

The good news was that three days later he arose from the dead – he had conquered death!

But even greater news is that he died for us – out of love he sacrificed his life for us so that all who truly repent of their sins and turn to him in faith will have eternal life with him in heaven.

Sadly we learn that this message of faith and the opportunity of eternal life is to be greatly reduced in our schools following the recent passing of Kirsty William’s Curriculum Bill.

Instead, there will be more time given to the teaching of “non-religious philosophical convictions”, including the views of Humanists UK, which is heavily involved in campaigns to end any religious worship in schools.

This group is very vocal but its views are representative of very few people in Wales.

Their agenda includes the abolition of Church schools and campaigns for a totally secular state.

They are strongly pro-abortion and even wish to remove the right of medical staff to conscientiously object.

Humanists UK are also one of the foremost campaigners for legalising euthanasia and assisted suicide in the UK.

In a fair and democratic society you would think that parents who don’t wish to have their children indoctrinated with this ideology would have the right to withdraw them maintained?

But even that has been removed despite the Government’s own consultations clearly showing that the vast majority do not want these measures introduced into our schools!

Let’s hope and pray that the new Government in the Senedd will see fit to amend this legislation in line with the wishes of its electorate .
