THE public has been advised to avoid Llangorse Lake following reports of 'blue green' algae in the water.
Powys County Council issued the advice today (Friday) and urged people not to swim in the water drink the water or allow pets or livestock to come into contact with the water.
A council spokesman said: "We are recommending that activities in and around the water are restricted until further tests have been carried out.
"Warning notices are being positioned in the area."
