DO you want to take supporting a good cause to new heights?

St David’s Hospice Care is seeking people to abseil 178-feet from Newport’s iconic Transporter Bridge to raise funds for their work in Newport and surrounding areas.

The charity, which covers the Gwent region, is the UK’s largest provider of hospice at home care and is dedicated to offering bespoke palliative care to patients and their families.

People can don their capes and masks (although this is optional) and climb 278 steps before abseiling free-fall from the platform to the ground: totalling 178 feet.

Abseilers – supervised by a qualified instructor – will take the plunge throughout the day on Saturday October 23

There is a £35 entry fee; participants are asked to raise as much sponsorship as possible with a minimum of £75 requested.
