A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court.

MIA JEAN HARRY, 18, of Prospect Street, Newport, was ordered to pay £2,021 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for breaching coronavirus restrictions for gathering with another person without reasonable excuse at Clos Ennig, Bettws, on February 22.

KEVIN HAWKES, 38, of Park View, Pontypool, was banned from driving for two years after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 95 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at the Springvale Industrial Estate, Cwmbran, on August 8.

He was also ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work and pay £180 in costs and a surcharge.

STEVEN HEALY, 57, of Alexandra Road, Ynysddu, Caerphilly, was ordered to pay £449 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on the A467 in Newport on February 17.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

MARTYN LEADBETTER, 46, of Ty Isaf Park Crescent, Pontymister, Risca, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Meadow Crescent on February 17.
