South Wales Argus:

Andrew Davies

Andrew Davies brought Newport to a standstill after he made hoax bomb calls to police.

Roads had to be closed and the city’s crown and magistrates’ courts evacuated after the 57-year-old sparked a major emergency services response.

Davies, of South Clive Street, Grangetown, Cardiff, was jailed for two years.

Addison Fouweather

Drug dealer Addison Fouweather fought with police after they arrested him in Newport.

He was caught carrying £14,000 worth of heroin and crack cocaine in Bettws.

The 19-year-old was sent to a young offender institution for two years and four months.

Daniel James

Heroin dealer Daniel James was living in “horrific” squalor surrounded by hundreds of used needles scattered all over his bedroom.

The 39-year-old from Brynmawr had held down a job but turned to selling the class A drug when he couldn’t control his own addiction.

James was jailed for two years.

Marcus Ball

Marcus Ball terrified his elderly victim during an aggravated burglary in Newport.

The 34-year-old broke into the complainant’s house and demanded to know where he kept the “gold”.

Career criminal Ball, of George Street, Pontypool, was jailed for nine years.

South Wales Argus:

Russell Owen

Paedophile hunters snared a sex offender who was later caught with a shocking image showing “ritualistic child abuse”.

Russell Owen was told by a judge he had shown contempt for the police and the public by continuing to offend after being arrested.

The 31-year-old defendant, who committed his crimes in Newport and Blaenavon, was locked up for two years.

South Wales Argus:

Craig Pittaway

A burglar who raided a home while his victims slept has been jailed.

Craig Pittaway, 34, broke into the house in the Caerphilly village of Abertysswg on October 11, 2019.

The defendant, of Fairford Avenue, Beeston, Leeds, pleaded guilty to burglary and was jailed for 30 months.
