A CAERPHILLY borough leisure centre has seen its popular swimming pool given a makeover.
Newbridge Leisure Centre’s swimming pool has been given a £90,000 investment to install new sensory play equipment for all ages in the pool.
The new equipment includes high-and-low-level water jets, water bowls, water sprays and tipping buckets which can be used by children of all ages and abilities.
It also allows children to explore new ways to build confidence and explore the water environment, as well as challenging their visual, auditory and tactile stimuli.

Caerphilly County Borough Council cabinet member for learning and leisure, Cllr Ross Whiting, said: “It is a fantastic investment for sport and swimming in the county borough. The new facilities provide increased opportunities for children, and I am sure will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
Sessions in the pool are pre-booked, with limited numbers, social distancing and sanitisation a priority at the leisure centre. There are also additional public swims on the timetable.
