A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court.

LAUREN MAISIE MARTIN, 23, of Gaer Park Lane, Newport, was banned from driving for 20 months after she pleaded guilty to drink driving with 77 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Caerau Road on September 8.

She was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

CONNALL HAWTHORNE, 20, of Pandy Road, Bedwas, Caerphilly, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 56 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Maesycwmmer on September 8.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

JOSHUA PARFITT, 21, of Henry Morgan Close, Duffryn, Newport, was ordered to pay £244 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for riding a motorcycle without insurance on Comorant Way on March 8.

His driving record was endorsed with eight points.

PHILLIP GULLIFORD, 48, of Herbert Walk, Newport, was ordered to pay £1,460 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to causing racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress on June 25.

SAMUEL JOHN HILL, 28, of Michael Way, Pontypool, was ordered to pay £524 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after it was proved in his absence he drove without insurance on Docks Way, Newport, on January 25.

USED CARS OF SOUTH WALES LTD, Usk Side Business Park, Church Street, Newport, were ordered to pay £750 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

ECOMMERCIAL CLEANING SERVICES LTD, Medart Place, Cross Keys, were ordered to pay £530 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
