Caerphilly-based electrical engineering firm Ayjay Group is celebrating its 25th birthday and has marked the occasion with a fitting tribute to their past.

Celebrations took place at its head office in Bedwas, where plans for the next 12 months were unveiled.

Ayjay has brought back its Robin Reliant - a company icon from when it celebrated its 10th year - which has been redesigned in a sporty 25th anniversary branding.

Ayjay is embarking on a year-long fundraising campaign with the aim to raise money for three charities - the RNLI, St David’s Hospice Care, and the Prince’s Trust.

Founded in 1996 by Jason Beament and Andrew Hall, the company has seen a sharp rise in all aspects of the business, with moves to larger facilities and a consistent growth in personnel.

Since relocating to Ayjay House in 2015, the company’s fleet of vans has grown to 18 and employs a staff of 34 in total.

Operations director Simon Beament said: “The growth of our company and consistent development of our apprentices is testament to the positive ambitions of the business. Craig Price is a great example of this. Craig joined us as a fresh-faced apprentice in 2003 and is now a shareholder and technical director, overseeing large projects, as well as the development of our current team of engineers, apprentices, and mates.

The company suffered a major loss in December 2020, with managing director Jason Beament died after a short battle with Covid-19.

To honour Mr Beament, a plaque has been placed in the main office at Ayjay House.

Managing director Andrew Hall said: “It was important to Jason and I that we had planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary in style, and although Jason’s not with us, we ensured that his memory was captured throughout the planning process.

“The plaque will serve as a reminder of the hard work, dedication and passion Jason instilled in the company and all its employees, and his legacy will remain going forward.”
