A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

LUKE THOMAS, 20, of Tredegar Park View, Rogerstone, Newport, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving on Tregwilym Road with a cocaine derivative in his blood on April 2.

He was ordered to pay £762 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

PARSONS MCCARTHY, 26, of Postern, Fairwater, Cwmbran, was banned from driving for 18 months after she admitted drink driving with 75 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at Jerusalem Lane, New Inn, Pontypool, on September 11.

She was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

ZAK KEITH CLARKE, 25, of High Street, Newbridge, was banned from driving for 12 months after he admitted drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on April 4.

THOMAS MORGAN, 29, of Channel View, Bulwark, Chepstow, was banned from driving for 20 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 125 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood at the Coldra roundabout, Newport, on June 27.

He also admitted public disorder in Cwmbran on the same date and was ordered to pay £736 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

OLIVER DANN, 39, of Edward Street, Abertillery, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to three counts of making off without paying for petrol at Sirhowy Bridge Garage, Tredegar, Blaenavon Motor Company and Gilwern Garage, Abergavenny, between August 20 and September 6.

He must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £171.10 in compensation.

LEE MICHAEL SOPER, 41, of Chepstow Road, Newport, was ordered to pay £75 in compensation after he admitted stealing a purse containing £10 on April 13.

CALLUM SEDGEMOOR, 23, of Graig Place, Aberdare, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving on Spytty Road, Newport, with a cocaine derivative in his blood on March 28.

He was ordered to pay £558 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
