A GWENT region has recorded one of the lowest Covid case rates in Wales for a third day running.
Blaenau Gwent has recorded the lowest new number of cases in Wales according to today’s Public Health Wales statistics. In Monday’s stats the area also recorded the lowest in Wales, and yesterday, it was the third lowest.
233 cases have been recorded in Gwent, out of 2,266 in Wales. 15 of these were in Blaenau Gwent.
Torfaen has overtaken Caerphilly for highest number of new cases in Gwent with 70. 59 new cases were recorded in Caerphilly, 58 in Newport and 31 in Monmouthshire.

There are four newly recorded deaths in today’s statistics and none of these were recorded in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board region. The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s death total according to Public Health Wales remains at 1,022. Wales’ total is 5,978 according to Public Health Wales’ latest statistics.
