A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court.

JORDAN EDWARDS, 21, of Prince Edward Crescent, Garden City, Ebbw Vale, was banned from driving for 16 months after he admitted drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on the A4046 on April 1.

He was ordered to pay £319 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

THOMAS HENSTRIDGE, 19, of West Road, Monkswood, near Usk, was banned from driving for 15 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Chepstow Road, Newport, on April 8.

He was ordered to pay £254 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

AIDEN JONES, 24, of St Gwladys Avenue, Bargoed, was banned from driving for 15 months after he admitted drug driving with a cocaine derivative in his blood on New Road, Gellihaf, Pontllanfraith, on April 10.

He was ordered to pay £470 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

DAVID RICHARD PRICE, 58, of Rockhill Road, Pontymoile, Pontypool, was banned from driving for 22 months after he admitted drink driving with 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Clarence Road on September 13.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

NICHOLAS JOHNSON, 45, of Greenfield Street, Bargoed, was banned from driving for 20 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Waunllwyn Crescent, Blackwood, on August 27.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

NOEL ANTHONY BRADLEY, 51, of George Street, Pontypool, was ordered to pay £409 in fines, compensation, costs and a surcharge after he admitted causing criminal damage to a Nisa store’s shutters and the rear cage of a Gwent Police van on May 1 and May 2.

ELLIOTT PAUL BAIN, 35, of Sir Howel Crescent, Undy, Monmouthshire, was ordered to pay £244 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on the B4245 Magor on January 9.

His driving record was endorsed with six points.

PETER JOHN FRANCIS, 50, of Honeysuckle Close, Rogerstone, Newport, was sentenced to a 12-community order after he was found guilty in his absence of failing to stop after an accident and driving without due care and attention on Dewsland Park Road on January 20.

He must complete a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, pay £460 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge.

His driving record was endorsed with 10 points.
