A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court and Cwmbran Magistrates’ Court.

JOSEPH SPENCE, 25, of Broadmead Park, Newport, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Corporation Road on May 11.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

RICHARD LEE JONES, 33, of Byron Place, Caldicot, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Station Road, Rogiet, on March 21.

He was ordered to pay £154 in a fine and a surcharge.

CHARLENE THOMAS, 39, of Trinity Road, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, was banned from driving for 30 months after she admitted drink driving with 123 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on September 16.

She was ordered to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work and pay £180 in costs and a surcharge.

JAMIE WHITE, 34, of Ogmore Crescent, Bettws, Newport, was banned from driving for 20 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 79 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on September 17.

He was ordered to pay £269 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

THOMAS FEREDAY, 33, of Edmundsbury Road, Duffryn, Newport, was banned from driving for 13 months after he admitted drink driving with 50 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath on Courtybella Terrace on September 19.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

DEAN WHATLEY, 35, of Lewis Lewis Avenue, Blackwood, was banned from driving for three years after he admitted failing to provide a specimen.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender and was ordered to pay £790 in fines, costs and a surcharge.

MOHAMMED MAMOUN BASHIER, 27, of Maesglas Crescent, Newport, was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on Cambrian Road on September 19.

KENNETH NIBBLETT, 63, of Fferm Y Bryn, Tredomen, Ystrad Mynach, was banned from driving for 18 months after he admitted failing to provide a specimen.

He was ordered to pay £269 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

GAVIN DAVIES, 34, of Pant View, Nantglo, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance on Station Road, Brynmawr, on September 19.

He was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and pay £300 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

DONNA PRICE, 46, of Pen Y Mead, Pontllanfraith, was ordered to pay £199 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after she pleaded guilty to stealing meat from Sainsbury’s.

JULIE BROOM, 55, of Tantallus Way, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after she failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

LANCE LUCAS, 66, of Clearwell Court, Bassaleg, Newport, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
