FOUR people have appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court after being charged with class A drug trafficking offences following Gwent Police’s Operation Adelaide.
The defendants are:
George Medcraft, 18, of Cwarrau Mawr Farm Lane, Caerphilly
Julie Smith, 52, of Coed Main, Lansbury Park, Caerphilly
Robbie Smith, 23, of Troed-y-Bryn, Penyrheol, Caerphilly
John Paul Jones, 32, of Ynys Las, Nelson, Caerphilly
Medcraft is charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and being concerned in making an offer to supply cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and Valium.
Julie Smith faces allegations of conspiracy to supply cocaine and offering to supply crack cocaine, heroin and Valium.

Robbie Smith is charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and being concerned in making an offer to supply cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and Valium.
Jones faces the single charge of conspiracy to supply cocaine.
The prosecution claims the alleged offences took place between March 28 and October 13.
Julie Smith, Robbie Smith and Jones were remanded in custody.
Medcraft was granted conditional bail.
The defendants are due to appear before Newport Crown Court on November 11.
