FAST food fans can look forward to a mouth-watering prospect in a few weeks' time when a new burger joint opens in Newport.

Lynchburger first opened in Liverpool earlier this year – to rave reviews – and will soon be arriving in Wales as part of the brand's expansion plans.

Founder Ryan Lynch told the Argus he was looking forward to opening the first Welsh branch of Lynchburger and bringing the chain's signature 'smashed' burgers to Newport.

After taking inspiration from the fast food culture in the USA, Mr Lynch believes he has devised the "perfect" burger technique.

"It's done a bit differently," he said. "We use 28-day grass-fed chuck mince, which we grind ourselves, and then smash [the patties] on the grill to get a meat crust that locks all the goodness in."

And apart from the buns, which are flown in from the USA every week, all the components of the burgers are made in-house, from the cheese mix to the burger sauce and even the pickles.

Some of the most popular items on the menu include the classic cheeseburger and the pastrami burger.

If that isn't enough to get you in the mood, Lynchburger's sides include criss-cross fries smothered in blue cheese and buffalo sauce, and there are plenty of dessert options, including ice cream sandwiches and deep-fried Oreos.

MORE NEWS:

The Lynchburger experience has been designed after Mr Lynch travelled around Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York, learning the burger-making secrets of the world's fast-food capitals.

After launching in Liverpool in March, mainly at pop-up events, the chain now has two branches on Merseyside and will also be opening in Manchester at the same time as the Newport launch, which Mr Lynch said would happen "in the next two or three weeks".

Lynchburger in Newport will initially only be available as a collection and delivery service, operating out of its new home in Enterprise Way.

On his firm's early success, Mr Lynch said: "We've been doing really well. The reviews have been superb.

"I want as many people to try this as possible. We're really looking forward to coming to Wales."
