A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court.

CORY JAMES DAVIES, 26, of Welland Crescent, Bettws, Newport, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cocaine derivative in his blood at High Cross Road on March 13.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

DAVID ADAMS, 53, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 18 weeks after he admitted drug driving with cocaine in his blood at Wyndham Street, Newport, on April 21.

He was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £128 surcharge.

CERI HICKS, 37, of Ilan Road, Abertridwr, Caerphilly, was banned from driving for 18 months after he admitted drink driving with 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at Lansbury Park on September 29.

He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

MICHAEL DYKES, 35, of Bridge Street, Chepstow, was made the subject of a two-year exclusion order not to enter the Burnt Barn Club after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on September 20.

He was also ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

TARA HERBERT, 49, of Ashford Close, Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran, was ordered to pay £1,076 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after it was proved in her absence she failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.

Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

ADELE ATHERTON, 28, of Market Street, Pontypool, was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, after she admitted assaulting a police constable and causing criminal damaged to a Gwent Police vehicle on August 24.

She was ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £363 in compensation, costs and a surcharge.

LEON WARREN PROBERT, 32, of Severn View, Garndiffaith, Pontypool, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualified at Hillcrest on September 10.

He was ordered to pay £525 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

NAQUITA MARIE EVANS, 28, of Commercial Street, Senghenydd, Caerphilly, was banned from driving for 17 months after she admitted drink driving with 150 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood at Stow Hill, Newport, on August 14.

She was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

JUSTIN HOWELLS, 49, of Jubilee Road, Elliots Town, Caerphilly, was banned from driving for six months for driving without insurance on School Street, New Tredegar, on February 19.

He was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
