THE mother of a five-year-old boy from Bridgend who was dound dead in a river has become the third person charged with his murder.
Logan Mwangi, also known as Logan Williamson, from Sarn in Bridgend, was discovered in the River Ogmore on July 31, after police were called to a report of a missing child. He was taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital, where it was confirmed he had died.
Logan’s mother, 30-year-old Angharad Williamson – from Sarn – has now been charged with murder and will appear before Cardiff Magistrates Court on Friday, October 22.
She previously appeared in court charged with perverting the course of justice.
John Cole, 39, and a 14-year-old boy have already been charged with murder.
The 14-year-old – who cannot be named due to his age - appeared in court earlier today.
At the inquest opening in Pontypridd, coroner’s officer Lauren Howitt said Logan had been formally identified by his grandmother Claire Williamson.

She told the hearing that a post-mortem examination had been carried out, but further investigation was needed before a cause of death was announced.
South Wales Police major crime investigation team is carrying out the ongoing inquiries into the death.
Family friends have paid tribute to Logan, who they described as “kind, funny, polite, handsome and clever”, on social media.
