HARRY POTTER fans in Wales are able to get their experience of going to Hogwarts – without leaving Cardiff.

The Platform 9¾ trolley has reached Cardiff Central Railway Station this morning, October 26, and will be available for fans to have photos with until October 28.

Fans queued up this morning to be the first to get their photo – with those there early given Lego Harry Potter goodies.

The trolley is going on tour across the UK to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first instalment in the Harry Potter film series – Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – which was released on November 16, 2001.

MORE NEWS:

The trolley is the symbol of the gateway between the Muggle - how non-magic folk are  referred to in the series - world and the wizarding world, and has a permanent home on the concourse of King’s Cross Station – which is the station used by witches and wizards in the film and book series to head to Hogwarts every September 1.

Victoria MacClean, a YouTuber and Harry Potter fan from Neath, was at the launch and said: “It’s absolutely magical to have Platform 9 ¾ so close to home here in Cardiff. To be able to share the magic with so many others and pass it onto the next generation of Harry Potter fans for the 20th anniversary is spellbinding.”

Fans will be able to get their photos with the trolley between 10.30am and 5.30pm until October 28.
