Both players underwent scans on their shoulders Monday
The Welsh Rugby Union said: "The scans revealed that neither Jones nor Moriarty will be able to participate further in the Autumn Nations Series, and will therefore be released from the squad.
"Both players will require surgery with an estimated recovery period of a number of months respectively."
Also released from the squad is Dragons legend Taulupe Faletau, whose club Bath confirmed that he will join a Welsh team (likely to be Cardiff) at the end of the season.
Cardiff flanker Shane Lewis-Hughes and uncapped Ospreys forward Rhys Davies have been called into the squad.
Uilisi Halaholo will rejoin the squad after completing 10 days of self isolation after testing postive for Covid-19.
