POPULAR independent gift shop Cooper's is closing down its store in Caerleon at the end of the year.

The shop, which also has a location in Rhiwbina, will be open for business in Caerleon for the last time on December 24, 2021.

In a post on its Facebook page, Cooper's said the reason for the closure was beyond their control, and thanked customers for their support.

  • Everyone loves their furry (and sometimes not so furry) friends – and we want to meet yours. Whether you’ve got dogs, cats, rodents, birds, lizards or something even more exotic, tell us – and our readers – all about your faithful friends. Click here to submit information and pictures.

It has been open for business for 10 years and specialises in unique and handmade products.

There is also the option for customers to request bespoke items.

Artists and creators are paid by the store to create items exclusive to the store.

The shop locations were picked specifically to become part of a village community, according to Cooper's website

Online sales will still be available, as long as the delivery location is within the UK.
