MORE than 500 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in the Gwent region, among 2,583 across Wales.
The latest figures, from Public Health Wales, also show there have been a further nine Covid-related deaths nationwide since the last update on Friday.
In the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board region, covering Gwent, the new cases are as follows: Blaenau Gwent (58), Caerphilly county borough (174), Monmouthshire (68), Newport (118), and Torfaen (119).
The rolling seven-day case rates for Wales show there are around 546 infections reported for every 100,000 people nationwide. But every area of Gwent is reporting higher infection rates, although these are down significantly compared with a few weeks ago.
