WALES were looking like they may have had a chance of scoring in a tightly contested game against South Africa, but one fan ruined the opportunity with his antics.

The man ran onto the pitch at the Principality Stadium on Saturday evening and was tackled by stewards just as Liam Williams looked to race onto a pass and score a try.

It is debatable if Williams would have scored if it wasn't for the pitch invader as the Springboks were racing across the field to deny the opportunity, but there is no doubt that the man distracted the Welsh flier.

The crowd in Cardiff was incensed by the man's actions that potentially cost Wales the game, as they eventually lost 18-23 to the most recent World Cup champions.

At the time of the incident, the score was drawn at 15-15 and a Wales try at that moment could have seen a very different conclusion to the game.

Youtube channel Beast Brigade published footage of the man making his way through the stadium and getting onto the pitch before being tackled by security.

The video also shows irate fans pelting him and the unfortunate stewards with beer as he was escorted away and handed over to South Wales Police.

Reactions on social media condemned the man's actions, with many calling for him to be banned from future games and heavily fined.

Wales head coach Wayne Pivac said:

"You don't want to see that in the game.

"It was very disappointing that happened, but nothing the officials could do about that."
