A SUPERSTAR Ebbw Vale artist will be celebrating his career in a special homecoming show.
Nathan Wyburn – who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent with a Marmite on toast portrait of Simon Cowell – will be returning to his home town of Ebbw Vale for a special evening recalling his career and giving advice to budding artists.
The evening – which will take place at the Beaufort Theatre and Café in Ebbw Vale on Friday, November 26 – will be hosted by radio presenter and long-time friend Wayne Courtney.
“Wayne has been with me through most of my adventures,” said Mr Wyburn. “He knows the type of questions to ask and the things to say that will get the best stories out of me.”
Mr Wyburn is looking forward to his homecoming and to hopefully inspire budding artists out there.

“I haven’t done anything in my hometown since my first exhibition in 2012," he said. "I was going to a lot of similar shows with people I admired over the years and I liked the idea with going back to my hometown and talking to everyone.
“To go back to the theatre I went to when I was younger and for the town to hear one of their own people talking about their adventures and career would be really nice.”
As well as Mr Courtney and Mr Wyburn talking about his various exhibitions across the world and celebrity meets including Prince Charles and Mariah Carey and showing videos from throughout his career, they will be taking questions from the audience – which Mr Wyburn hopes that young people looking to get into art will take the opportunity to ask for advice.
“As well as the more celebrity side of the stories and questions, I want students who attend to ask any questions they may have that I can provide advice for.”
A Homecoming Evening with Nathan Wyburn will take place at the Beaufort Theatre and Café in Ebbw Vale on Friday, November 26 at 7pm. Tickets are £10 which includes a copy of book Pop Tart – The Art of Nathan Wyburn.
