A FUNDRAISER has been set up to help a family left devastated by the death of their 10-year-old son, who died after being attacked by a dog.
Jack Lis, from Penyrhoel in Caerphilly, was killed on Monday, November 8 after being attacked by a dog when playing with a friend.
Jack’s mum paid tribute to her “beautiful boy Jack” on social media and friends and family have rallied around her and her family.
In a tribute released by Gwent Police, the family said: “We are absolutely heartbroken. Our lives will never be the same without Jack.
“This is not something any parent should ever have to be writing.
“We have so many words we want to say about our beautiful boy, but they do not seem enough.
“We love him more than words can describe. Our boy made us the proudest parents and family on the planet. He was the sweetest of boys.
“We will forever miss his quirky ways and his stories that he would spend so long telling us.
“He's forever in our hearts. Sweet dreams Jack, our perfect boy.”
Jack's mum's cousin Matthew Young has set up a fundraiser to go towards Jack’s funeral to help take some of the strain from the immediate family.
He said how the family had been contacted by many people asking if there was some way they could help following Jack's death, and felt this would be the easiest way.

He said: “They’ve just had a lot of people message and ask to help towards the funeral costs, so wanted me to set it up so they have a place to do so.”
The inquest into Jack’s death was opened at Newport Coroner’s Court yesterday, Friday.
The coroner heard that Jack died of ‘unsurvivable injuries’. The inquest has been adjourned to a later date for “further enquiries” to be made.
