THE RSPCA is appealing for information after a cat was found in Newbridge – with worrying gastric problems.
The animal welfare charity was alerted after a member of the public found the tabby cat in a bad way on Sunday, November 7, near Tynewydd Primary School in the Newbridge area.
There are ongoing welfare concerns regarding the cat, who has been nicknamed Hope. She has blood in her diarrhoea, and vets have linked these to gastric problems.
Anyone with information about who may own the cat, or has more information about her condition, has been urged to contact the RSPCA's inspectorate line.
RSPCA inspector Simon Evans said: "A kind-hearted member of the public found this cat in Newbridge on Sunday - and transferred her to a veterinary practice."

He continued: "Unfortunately, she wasn't in a very good way - and has blood in her diarrhoea. Vets believe this is due to gastric problems.
"The cat isn't microchipped - but we don't believe her to be a stray.
