Award-winning specialist training company Aspiration Training has opened a new office in Newport city centre.

Located on High Street in the former Careers Wales offices, this is the 11th office for Aspiration Training, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The firm will use the new location to provide traineeships, offering a blended approach to training with on-the-job work placements for 16-18 year olds from the city and surrounding areas with a focus on those who have had a disrupted education.

Karen Evans, manager of the Newport office, said: “Traineeships is a new service for Aspiration Training. Our market research identified a demand for this service in Newport and the location of our new office is perfect to deliver these from.

"We also wanted to be close to the government referral agency Careers Wales as we work closely with them daily. We will be training new staff in preparation for roles and careers in the health, social care, and child care sectors. Alongside, and in addition to the Traineeships, we will be delivering work-based learning courses and Department of Works and Pensions initiatives for the long term unemployed and young adults."

Dan Smith, director of M4 Property Consultants, represented the landlord of 46-47 High Street.

He said: "Aspiration Training is a commercially astute, successful company with a business plan in place to maximise the full potential of the space available. It was looking for a prominent spot that had great transport links as most of their learners rely on public transport, bus routes, and being close to the train station.

"The building offers a great space for Aspiration Training and its team of specialists to work from, with the option to expand into additional rooms in the future as it expands."
