Many Tears Animal Rescue has issued an urgent plea for volunteers.

The rescue centre has had a large intake of dogs over the last week and volunteers are needed to bath and groom them.

A post on the rescue centre’s Facebook page is asking for anyone who can volunteer to come forward and help at Many Tears.

Volunteers are needed from Friday onwards.

Can you help Many Tears?

The post said: “We have a lot of new dogs due to arrive this week and are looking for committed, caring people who may be able to volunteer a day of their time to help the dogs.

“We have specific roles that we are in desperate need of volunteers for and are looking for people who are over 18 and can:

“Clean the vans (two people) - these will be very dirty after transporting the dogs back to the rescue so will need a deep clean on the insides and people who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

“Bath the new arrivals (two people) - there will be no trimming or grooming involved, but you would need to be comfortable with handling and bathing very scared ex-breeding dogs.

“Socialising puppies (two people) - this includes the fun task of sitting with and socialising puppies but will also include A LOT of cleaning the kennels after them and supervised feeding.”

The rescue centre initially needed help on early this week, but those roles were quickly filled by volunteers.

However, more help is needed on Friday and throughout the weekend and into next week.

Many Tears added: “Thank you so much for all your offers of help, we really appreciate all of your support. Our volunteering spaces are now filled for Wednesday & Thursday, but if you would like to volunteer from Friday onwards please send an email with which dates and times you would like to come.”
