Road closures will hit much of the M4 in Wales this week.

Overnight closures will impact various parts of the motorway around Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.

These are the sections of the M4 that will be disrupted by road closures this week.

M4 road closures in Wales

  • M4 westbound, junction 47: The entry slip road of the M4 westbound at junction 47 for Pennlergaer will be closed overnight for much of the week. Maintenance work will shut the road between 8pm and 6am each evening until Friday.
  • M4 eastbound, junction 45-46: The section of the M4 between junction 45 for Ynysforgan and junction 44 for Lon Las will be closed on Monday night. Resurfacing work will shut the eastbound section of the motorway between 8pm on Monday and 6am on Tuesday.
  • M4, junction 33-32: Maintenance work will close the M4 in both directions on Monday night. The road will be closed from 8pm on Monday until 6am on Tuesday between junction 33 for Capel Llanilltern and junction 32 for Coryton.
  • M4 eastbound, junction 35: The entry slip road of the M4 eastbound at junction 35 for Pencoed will be closed for much of the week. Overnight closures will begin at 8pm on Monday and continue until 6am on Saturday.
  • M4 eastbound, junction 33-32: Maintenance to the road surface will close the M4 between junction 33 for Capel Llanilltern and junction 32 for Coryton on Tuesday night. The eastbound carriageway will close at 8pm on Tuesday and reopen at 6am on Wednesday.
  • M4 westbound, junction 32-33: The westbound carriageway of the M4 between junction 32 for Coryton and junction 33 for Capel Llanilltern will also close on Tuesday night. Maintenance work will shut the motorway between 8pm on Tuesday and 6am on Wednesday.
