HERE is a round up of the public notices which have appeared in the South Wales Argus over the last week.

- A planning inspector appointed by the Welsh ministers will hold hearing sessions into an application by Rush Wall Solar Park Ltd for land near Redwick on the Caldicot Levels.

The hearings will take place on August 16, 17 and 22, 2022, at The Choir Hall, Mill Lane, Caldicot.

He will hear evidence relating to: preliminary matters, ecology, landscape / character and appearance, flooding, conditions and obligations.

Although the events are open to members of the public to observe, only those specifically invited by the inspector are entitled to participate.

Anyone wishing to observe should lodge a request with the Planning and Environment Decisions Wales by July 25, 2022, quoting the application number DNS/3220457, at www.planningcasework.service.gov.wales

- Johnsey Estates has provided an environmental statement in respect of planning applications 17/P/0468/OUT and 17/P/0482/LBC. These are for outline planning permission for a residential development of up to 900 dwellings, retention of employment plus other existing uses, a neighbourhood centre, access arrangements from the A4042 and Old Abergavenny Road, landscaping and areas of public open space, and other associated infrastructure on land at Mamhilad. And a listed building consent application for the partial demolition and refurbishment of the former Nylon Spinners Factory at Mamhilad Park Estate, Mamhilad, Pontypool.

- Abercarn Rugby Football Social Club has applied to Caerphilly County Borough Council for a premises licence in respect of Abercarn Rugby Football Club, of High Street, Abercarn, for the proposed supply of alcohol at the following times:

  • From Monday to Thursday, between 11am and 11pm;
  • On Fridays and Saturdays, between 11am and 2am; 
  • On Sundays, between 11am and 10.30pm.

Also for recorded music:

  • From Monday to Thursday between 11am and 11pm;
  • On Fridays between midday and midnight;
  • On Saturdays between midday noon and 1am; 
  • On Sundays between noon midday 10.30pm.

And live music:

  • On Thursdays between 7pm and 11pm;
  • On Fridays between midday and 11pm;
  • On Saturdays between midday and midnight;
  • On Sundays between midday and 8pm.

- Caerphilly County Borough Council is to divert part of public footpath 363 in Abercarn. A copy of the order and the order map may be seen at a notice board outside Penallta House free of charge at all hours.

- Morgan Morris Scaffolding Limited, of Gelligaer Court, Hospital Road, Penpedairheol, Hengoed has applied for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence to use the site as an operating centre for six goods vehicles and no trailers.

- Newport City Council has received the following planning applications in relation to listed buildings and conservation areas:

  • Erection of a Class A1 foodstore with associated access, car parking and landscaping at RJ Mason Transport Ltd, Albany Street.
  • Erection of Porsche centre, one satellite showroom centre and associated works at land on the north side of Lakeside Drive, Coedkernew.
  • Construction of 10 residential apartments and associated works at 9 Gold Tops.
  • Listed building consent for internal alterations to existing dwelling, installation of photovoltaic cells air source heat pump and enclosure, flues and new hardwood entrance door at Old St Peters, St Peters Crescent, Peterstone.
  • Listed building consent for re-ordering, alterations and extension of existing business space into adjoining property at No 13 at 9-11 Cardiff Road, Newport.

- Caerphilly County Borough Council is temporarily ban traffic from Hall Street, Blackwood from Unique Health and Fitness, the junction of Bridge Street to the junction of George Street, Blackwood.

The proposed Order is expected to start on July 25, 2022, for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated the works will be completed by August 19, 2022.

Alternative routes are available via Bridge Street, B4251 High Street, B4254, A4048, Park Terrace.

Access for pedestrians will be maintained. Access for emergency service vehicles will not be maintained.

The reason for making the order is to allow gas mains replacement.

- Magor Motors Ltd, of 5 Laurel Close, Undy, is applying to change an existing Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence to add an operating centre to keep seven goods vehicles and four trailers at 4A New Quay Road, Felnex Industrial Estate, Stephenson Street, Newport.

- James Hill, trading as JAGA Group, of Unit 26, Estuary Road, Queensway Meadows Industrial Estate, Newport, is applying for a Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence to use Unit 26, Estuary Road, Queensway Meadows Industrial Estate, Newport, as an operating centre for five goods vehicles and 10 trailers.

- The Andcip Limited, of 119 Commercial Street, Newport, is applying to Newport city Council for a premises licence for the sale of alcohol (off sales) from Monday to Sunday between 9am and 11pm.
