UNIVERSITY students at Caerleon were treated to a performance by the Newport Playgoers as part of their studies.
The group played I Take Your Hand in Mine, a play based on love letters between Anton Chekhov and Olga Knipper.
After a successful run at the Dolman Theatre, the production was invited to perform at Caerleon to students studying Chekhov.
Judith Lindwall, who played Olga Knipper and is also head of learner services at Coleg Gwent Ebbw Vale campus, said she was delighted to be invited.
"It was an excellent way for the students to get to grips with the life and plays of Chekhov."
Ms Lindwall has previously occupied lead roles in plays such as Beyond Resonable Doubt, Shadowlands and Mrs Warren's Profession.
