At the January meeting Mrs Anne Collier of Govilon took a humorous and, at times, moving look at the Welsh Mam' through poetry and prose readings. She captured her character further by donning hats, shawls and the cross-over pinny. We were reminded of the miners, bath day, wash day, Christmas Day and many other family situations. She was applauded warmly and in turn thanked the group for its hospitality.
Thanks also went to those who had brought the many raffle prizes and to Christine Lea and Edith Davies for serving the teas.
The next meeting is at 2.30pm on , February 26, in Pandy Hall when Majel Lee will give a talk about My Devonshire Ancestors'
