Super Welsh rugby fan or super optimist, Kelvin Reddicliffe is absolutely certain Wales will take the Triple Crown in Ireland this weekend, and to prove it, he has put his money where his mouth is.

Kelvin, who is the manager of Timpson Shoe Repairers, in Newport, is a committed charity fundraiser, and this time he has combined his rugby passion with raising cash for St Anne's Hospice.

His little tongue in cheek effort comes in the shape of a Wales Triple Crown Tankard, which he will let go to the highest bidder that comes into the shop in Austin Friars.

But if the Irish should win, it will be his "alternative Triple Crown tankard", in that he will have it engraved with the correct result.

"I know it sounds a bit loopy, but I'm a passionate Welshman and even though this is just for fun, I'm super confident that Wales will win, and go on to take the Grand Slam in Cardiff against the French, on March 15.

"It's going to be tight at Croke Park against the Irish, but I think we will beat them 22-16, but I'll wait for the result first before I engrave the tankard, obviously, which will make it totally unique tankard in some way".

Just for the record, Kelvin thinks that Wales will see off the French 18-12 to take the Grand Slam. Coincidentally, the Irish result mirrors his colleague in Timpsons, Kristian Heath, who thinks that Wales will beat the Irish by the same scoreline as Kelvin's, but in the France game, for Kristian, it will be 25-15.

Who ever wins, there will only be one real winner, St Anne's Hospice, who will benefit from whoever comes up with the right offer at the shop on Tuesday, March 18.
