POLICE in Cwmbran fear a man who indecently exposed himself to a number of teenage girls has struck again.

There were two incidents on Monday in the Pontnewydd area of the town.

The first happened on Station Road just before 5pm, when a man driving a dark-coloured people carrier pulled over and spoke to a 16-year-old girl.

He made an obscene sexual comment and then exposed himself to the girl before driving off.

The man had dark hair and eyebrows and was wearing a pale green t-shirt.

The girl noticed a Winnie the Pooh sticker in the rear window of the vehicle.

Ten minutes later in Commercial Street a man matching the description and driving the same type of vehicle pulled over and spoke to another 16-year-old girl.

He again made an obscene comment and then exposed himself to the girl before driving off.

Police say they are keeping an open mind as to whether the incidents are related to two similar incidents last month.

On March 26 a man driving a dark-coloured people carrier and wearing a Liverpool football top exposed himself to several teenage girls in Upper Cwmbran and Coed Eva.

PC Darrell Dewar, crime and disorder reduction officer for Cwmbran police, appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: "The number of offences over a short period of time gives us concern.

"We don't want people to panic, but we would ask parents to warn their children about this man, to make sure they know where there children are at all times and to remind them not to approach or speak to strangers."

Anyone with information can call PC Dewar on 01633 642054 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
