FUNNY, honest, emotional, genuine – Davina McCall came to Penarth and she did not disappoint.

Of Big Brother fame, Davina was in Penarth on Thursday, October 19, promoting her new book Menopausing: The Positive Roadmap to Your Second Spring, raising the often taboo subject of the menopause.

Everyone from Griffin Books, who hosted Davina, to the photographer said how the TV personality was kind, down to earth and approachable.

Davina began her whistle-stop tour of Penarth in Griffin Books on Windsor Road, holding a book signing between 4pm and 5pm.

Then, later in the evening, Davina, along with co-author Dr Naomi Potter, wowed a crowd of almost 450 people at Stanwell School where they discussed more about the menopause as well as having some fun on the way – it was said to be an emotional event.

'Menopausing: The Positive Roadmap to Your Second Spring'

Davina McCall and Dr Naomi Potter break the silence over the menopause in a ground-breaking book that discusses every aspect of the menopause.

By explaining the science, debunking damaging myths, and smashing taboos around the perimenopause and menopause, the book is described as something that will equip women to make the most informed decisions about their health, and their lives.

Griffin Books’ busy autumn events programme shows no sign of slowing as another TV personality is due to visit the shop this weekend.

On Saturday, October 28, Welsh gardener and TV presenter Sue Kent will stop by the award-winning bookshop to sign copies of her new book, Garden Notes.

Ms Kent is a TV presenter, an RHS disability ambassador and award-winning garden designer.

Her television work includes leading gardening programmes such as BBC 2's Gardeners' World.

She has been gardening in Wales for more than thirty years and in that time has developed a breadth of knowledge to help make gardening easy and enjoyable for all ages and abilities.

Based on her practical experience, Garden Notes has been specially designed to be an invaluable aid to gardeners

The book signing will take place from midday to 1.00 pm on Saturday, October 28, at Griffin Books.
