Five dog friendly Newport pubs where you can enjoy a pint

If you are looking to cosy up in the pub after a long day at work, you might not want to leave your dog behind.

If this is you, have a read of our list of five dog friendly pubs in the local area so that you can enjoy a pint with your dog.

1. The Ship Inn Caerleon

The family run pub, The Ship Inn, in Caerleon (Image: Supplied) The Ship Inn which is situated in the heart of caerleon is an award winning restaurant. 

The pub is dog friendly so you can enjoy their food and drinks with your pup by your side.

The pub prides itself on appealing to all members of the family, including children and four-legged friends.

The Ship Inn is open Monday to Sunday from noon till 11pm.

2. The Blaina Wharf

The Blaina Wharf in Newport (Image: File) The Blaina Wharf, which can be found on East Dock Road prides itself on being a 'traditional village pub'.

The pub is dog-friendly and has a cosy interior following their refurbishment in 2023.

The pub is open Monday to Sunday 11am till 11pm.

3. The Dragonfly

It is open from noon to 11pm Monday to Saturday and noon till 10.30pm on a Sunday.

4. The Llanwern Bull

The pub is open from 11am till 11pm from Monday to Saturday and noon till 10.30pm on a Sunday.

The McCann’s Rock and Ale Bar

The bar encourages anyone with a dog to come along and has dog treats at the end of the bar.

The bar is open Monday till Thursday from noon till 11pm, Noon till 2am on a Friday, Noon till 3am on a Saturday and Noon till midnight on a Sunday.
