Valleys drugs gang made more than £1m selling cocaine

Daniel Warren, Declan Jones and Wesley Curtis were caught flooding the streets of Blaenau Gwent with the class A drug.

They pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine.

The trio were back in court for a proceeds of crime hearing.

It emerged that Warren profited by £479,096.04 but has just £724.48 in available assets with the money already in police hands.

Jones benefited by £477,537.18 and had no assets so was ordered to pay a nominal amount of £1 by Judge Shomon Khan.

Curtis made £185,581.39 and has £70,929.50 which can be seized, Cardiff Crown Court was told.

He will have to sell his house and has three months to hand the money over or he will face an extra 12 months in custody in default.

This three-month deadline can be extended if the sale takes longer.

They were also ordered to pay a statutory victim surcharge following their release from jail.

Last May, Warren, 37, of Attlee Road, Nantyglo was sent to prison for eight years and three months.

Jones, 23, of Attlee Road, Nantyglo was locked up for six years and Curtis, 38, of Glyn Milwr, Blaina was jailed for six years and nine months,

Following their sentences, PC Ryan Hagan, Gwent Police’s officer in the case, said: "I hope this acts as a reminder to those tempted to engage in such criminality.

"Illegal drugs have no place in our society and we will continue to target anyone involved in drug supply.”
