OFF the shelf or off the rail?
I know which I would prefer, having met the very talented Adebimpe Abegore at her recently opened tailors in Newport.
Ade, who is from Lagos in Nigeria, studied at the Academy of Fashion in Lagos in 2010, and then started her own business in Nigeria with just one machine and a heart full of passion.
She then decided to come to Britain, and set up shop here in Newport.
The business is doing well, and she hopes to expand in the future.
Its services include hand-made outfits, all kinds of alterations and hand-made accessories.
The materials are sourced from Africa, and the colours and designs are so beautiful and vibrant that it is hard to choose which one to pick.
The shop is called OOS Clothing and they are situated on Baneswell Road in Newport, and can be reached by calling 07833 661 512.
Ade's husband helps out now and again, so do not be surprised if a man answers the phone.
I have visited this tailor on four occasions, and I must say that they have done a fabulous job on all of my alterations.
I’ve had two extremely long, complex sleeves altered, and two gorgeous tunics made from scratch.
As you can see from the pictures, the quality of the sewing is superb.
And the quality of its work overall really is outstanding.
I cannot recommend this newly-opened tailor’s shop too highly – if you have any problems with clothes that do not fit, or you want something gorgeous made from scratch, give them a try.
