A new pizza restaurant officially opened in Newport and aims to become a ‘firm favourite’ in the city.

On Tuesday, October 28, the fastest-growing UK pizza franchise, Fireaway Pizza, unveiled its new store on 168 Chepstow Rd, Maindee.

The new restaurant is owned by brothers Ashish and Yash Parekh who are both local to the Newport and wider South Wales area.

Co-owner of Fireaway Newport, Ashish Parekh said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have officially opened Fireaway Newport.

“It’s been incredible to see so many members of the local community come through our doors, enjoy their first Fireaway experience and, of course, get their hands on some of the 100 free pizzas we’ve been giving away.

“The atmosphere has been fantastic all day - there’s a real buzz around the store, and it’s brilliant to be able to meet so many customers face-to-face.

“This opening marks such an exciting milestone for us as we continue to grow with the Fireaway family.

“We’re passionate about bringing authentic, freshly made pizza and exceptional service to the local area, and we can’t wait to become a firm favourite for pizza lovers across Newport.”

The brothers are experienced in running successful pizza businesses and both possess a background in marketing and over a decade’s experience in hospitality.

Ashish spent 10 years with Domino’s before the brothers opened their first Fireaway franchise in Ystrad Mynach, which was a hit with local customers.

The Newport restaurant is their second Fireaway store and marks their expansion across South Wales.

Fireaway Pizza prides itself on using authentic Italian ingredients and fresh, made-to-order pizzas.

The brothers have built a team of 12 local staff, including six in-store chef and front-of-house team members supported by six delivery drivers - all recruited from the Newport area.

This has provided valuable employment opportunities for the local community, something the pair are particularly proud of.

Fireaway Newport will give away a further 100 free pizzas on Monday, November 3 - this time exclusively to those who have registered via the restaurant’s social media page.
