The Old Barn Inn, Llanmartin, makes top of TripAdvisor list

The Old Barn Inn, a country pub, restaurant and hotel on Magor Road in Llanmartin, has been earning glowing reviews from guests for its "delicious" food and "very friendly" staff.

One reviewer called it "an amazing find," while another described it as "beautiful inside and out."

The venue currently holds a Travellers’ Choice award on TripAdvisor and is ranked first out of all restaurants in Llanmartin, with 184 restaurant reviews and more than 500 hotel reviews.

Guests regularly praise the food, service and ambience.

One visitor said: "We ate in the bar lounge and the food was lovely.

"The menu was clearly labelled for allergies and veggie/vegan options."

Another said the staff were "very friendly and helpful" and breakfast was "delicious".

The pub also boasts more than 5,500 likes on Facebook and holds a 92 per cent recommendation rate from more than 1,000 reviews.

On Booking.com, it holds an 8.7 rating, while Expedia guests have scored it 9.2 out of 10, describing it as "wonderful."

The praise doesn’t stop there.

The Old Barn Inn was recently awarded a five-star food hygiene rating by environmental health officers.

The pub shared the news on social media, writing: "Guess what?

"Our EHO inspection was on Monday… and we scored a 5-star food hygiene rating."

The top rating means the inn was found to have "very good" standards of hygienic food handling, while the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building were judged to be "good."

The management of food safety was also rated as "good."

Housed in an 18th-century converted barn, The Old Barn Inn offers 14 individually styled rooms, including a suite with its own balcony.

Rooms feature silk furnishings, Egyptian cotton sheets and a traditional Welsh breakfast.

The venue is also known as a popular wedding destination.

Its function suite can seat up to 90 guests during the day and up to 150 in the evening.

Its location close to the Celtic Manor Resort and the International Convention Centre Wales makes it a convenient base for visitors attending events.

On social media, The Old Barn Inn has recently been promoting its upcoming Mother’s Day menu – a three-course set meal priced at £29.95 per person.
