THE M48 Severn Bridge will be closed heading into Wales this weekend.

The closure is the second of four weekends of structural maintenance works on the bridge.

This weekend, the westbound carriageway will be closed from Junction 1 Aust to Junction 2 Newhouse.

The closure will be in place from 8pm on Friday, March 6 to 6am on Monday, March 9.

A diversion will be in place via the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.

Traffic heading eastbound will not be affected.
