Police have undertaken patrols near West Monmouth School after reports of an unknown male approaching pupils.
The incident took place near West Monmouth School yesterday morning.
Pupils raised their concerns with both the school and the police.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "Pupils were quick to raise their concerns with the school and Police.
"Safeguarding has been provided by the school and Police.
"Pupils have been advised to remain vigilant and report any further concerns.
"Patrols have been undertaken in the area and will continue."
