A new principal has been appointed to lead a primary school.
Stephanie King will join Lift Offa’s Mead Primary School this September, taking up the role from Glan Llyn Primary School in Newport, where she is currently Deputy Headteacher.
Ms King said: "I am delighted to be joining Lift Offa’s Mead Primary School as Principal from September and feel incredibly privileged to become part of such a warm and supportive school community.
"Building strong relationships with families is hugely important to me, and I am committed to working openly and collaboratively to ensure that all children have the very best opportunities to thrive, both academically and personally.
"I am looking forward to getting to know the pupils, staff and families over the coming months and working together as we continue to build on the school’s many strengths."
During her time at Glan Llyn, Mrs King led a range of initiatives to strengthen teaching and learning, develop the curriculum, improve outcomes in mathematics and enhance support for vulnerable pupils.
She has also built a strong reputation for developing staff, working closely with families and creating inclusive environments where children can thrive.
Mrs King secured the role following a competitive recruitment process.
She will begin spending time at the school in the coming weeks to meet staff, pupils and families ahead of the new academic year.
